Subtask

You have the option to add child issues or subtasks to an item. This feature allows you to break down and organize your tasks further, making it easier to manage and track your project’s progress.

Creation of subtask

To create subtasks, you can do it directly from the task details.

Subtask detail

  • Opening Subtasks
To view a subtask, simply click on it within the task, and it will open up for you

  • ID and Name
In the subtask, you can find information such as the project name, parent item ID, and the subtask’s own ID.

  • Subtask features
Accessing features like Summary, Labels, Description, Attachments, Loom, Comments, Activity, Voting, Watchers, Priority, Estimations, Logged Hours, Reporter, Custom Fields, and other features within a subtask is done in the same way as with the parent task.
  • Epic
Accessing epics within a subtask is similar to the parent task. The only difference is that if you change the epic of a subtask, it will automatically change the epic of the parent item as well.

Other actions
Apart from the basic task management, you have additional actions available for more control:
  • Add Flag
You can mark an item with a flag to highlight its importance. Flags are visible to your entire team, and when you share a link to the item, the flag is seen by others too. This helps communicate the significance of the item effectively.
  • Delete
Permanently remove the item from your workspace.

  • Convert to Subtask
You have the flexibility to turn subtasks into standalone tasks, and they will be placed according to the parent sprint. For instance, if you have “Item1” with a subtask “Subtask1” in the backlog, converting “Subtask1” into an item will keep it in the backlog. However, if “Item1” is part of a sprint, the converted item will appear in that sprint.
